Relive the past in the old mine town of Gold Reef City, take a trip underground and witness a gold pour and visit the many shops.
The tour cannot be complete without a trip through Soweto. This sprawling metropolis of more than 3.5 million people on the outskirts of Johannesburg. Soweto is a multi-lingual, multi-cultural composite of South Africa today. The tour includes a full view of Soweto from the vicinity of Baragwanath Hospital.
Travel to Pretoria, administrative capital of South Africa. Visit the Union Buildings (Government's administrative offices), drive through Church Square stopping at Melrose House for lunch. Take in the splendid views from Fort Klapperkop and visit the Voortrekker Monument. On to Johannesburg airport for your flight to Cape Town.
Visit Hout Bay and enjoy the views from Chapmann's Peak Drive, on to Cape Point where, by tradition, two marine ecosystems and oceans meet. Drive through the naval base town of Simonstown, Cape Town harbor and the Victorian and Alfred Waterfront.

Weather permitting, an early morning trip (07h45) up Table Mountain with one of the most modern cable cars in the world. Head east through Strand and on to Gordon's Bay. Leave the coast and on to the Tradouw Pass entering the Little Karoo at Barrydale.

Visit the Cango Caves, vast limestone caverns which have only been partially explored. Then visit an ostrich farm renowned for supplying ostrich feathers to Hollywood in the 1920's and 1930's. Taking the Outeniqua Pass to the coastal plain, we drive through George to Wilderness.

Travel the scenic route to Knysna where we cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy a trailer ride to the top of the Western head, returning to lunch under the Milkwood trees.
Cruise back to Knysna and continue on to Plettenberg Bay.

Head east through the Tsitsikamma Forest and across the deep gorges of the Groot and Bloukrans Rivers to Storms River, continuing into farmlands and suburbs of Port Elizabeth.
Transfer to Port Elizabeth airport for a flight to Durban. Enjoy a sight seeing tour of the Valley of a Thousand Hills and a short tour of the City of Durban. The tour continues to an ethnic Zulu village. This unique cross-cultural program includes presentations on Zulu history, etiquette and tradition. Apart from Western fare, authentic Zulu food will be on offer. Before retiring to a "Bee Hive" hut, fitted with en-suite facilities, Zulu dancers will entertain you.
Swaziland and on to the Ezulwini Valley. We will explore local craft and meet some of the friendly Swazi people.

Leaving Swaziland, we travel through Mbabane, Piggs Peak and on to the Kruger National Park. Experience an early morning game drive and hopefully encounter the "Big Five" (elephant, lion, rhino, leopard and buffalo). Explore the park seeking our many other animals and birds.

Then on to the Eastern Escarpment where one is overwhelmed by breathtaking views from places such as Gods Window, Blyde River Canyon, The Pot Holes and many waterfalls. Stop at Pilgrims Rest, a mining town born during the excitement of an alluvial gold-rush in the 1870's. Spend the night in an old mining hotel.
Depart Pilgrims Rest travelling through the gold and coal mining towns to Johannesburg where the tour ends.
